Language and Culture Centre PASSWORD
We are a language and culture centre "PASSWORD" from Latvia, legal status: NGO. We are a local organisation that currently employs four people full time and three part time.
We are an organisation that was established in 2007 and aims at lessening any forms of xenofobia in the local society as a tool using language and different foreing dance teaching. One of our main target groups is youngsters, also disadvantaged, whom we try to integrate in the local society by using different methods of active participation, e.g. trying to organise their free time by organising different events, leading their activities into international level so to gain a broader perspective as well as raising their self confidence and developing different personal skills. At the moment we have around 80 people that are actively involved in our activities. We also have a good cooperation with secondary schools in the region.
The main activities we do:
- language teaching to different target groups (children to adults);
- dance classes;
- psychology courses;
- event organisation;
- activities to involve youngsters from different social and economic background in NGO sector.
Though the organisation is newly founded, the staff has a serious previous experience in project management and fund raising, e.g. EURASIA foundation, ESF, Youth in Action and other local funds.
We are also accredited EVS sending and hosting organisation.
